About Mr. Carel Mackenbach

As one of the first e-commerce consultants Carel has 15 years of experience in internet technologies, both in the Public and Private Sector, both as entrepreneur and strategy consultant. His work always involves a combination of developing high concepts, like ubiquitous internet payments or zero fraud digital identities, and the capacity to make it happen at the bits and bytes level.

For years Carel was involved as strategy advisor of the Electronic Learning Dossier, the premier Dutch data hub for exchanging learning data of students, across multiple education levels. He was also project leader of the first Dutch e-skills programme, launched by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. As an assignment for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he worked frequently in India to enable SME's to export to Europe.

A few years ago Carel co-founded a revolutionary concept for digital identity management, which puts the identity owner fully in control and which mirrors government owned identity documents.

Carel is also Track Committee Member of the WCIT track Creative Industries.
